Caller ID

Caller ID on Slice Register
helps you quickly identify customers when they call your shop. Their phone number appears on your screen, and if they’ve ordered before, you’ll see their name and order history. This makes it easy to greet them and start an order without asking for their details.

To use Caller ID, your shop must have two phone lines—one to receive calls and another dedicated to Slice Register. The first line will forward calls to the second line, allowing Caller ID to display customer details. You won’t be able to answer calls on both numbers. If your shop needs to handle multiple calls at once, you’ll need more than two phone lines.

Set Up Call Forwarding

Your main advertised phone number (Line 1) must be set to forward to our CallerID number, which Slice will provide. This allows the system to capture the caller’s phone number and send that data to your Slice Register.

At the same time, our CallerID will forward the call to your shop’s second phone line (Line 2).

If you have more than two lines, set Line 2 to forward calls to Line 3 when it’s busy. If needed, continue this pattern—Line 3 forwards to Line 4, and so on.

Do not loop calls back to Line 1. Each line should forward to the next one in the chain and end on your last line.

Taking an Order with Caller ID

When your phone rings, the CallerID icon in the navigation bar will show a notification. Answer the call and ask the customer if this order is Pickup or Delivery.

Next, select the correct dining option—pickup or delivery—and tap the customer profile below.

Submit the customer to begin the order. If the customer hasn’t been saved yet, you’ll need to add their name, and if it’s a delivery order, their address as well.

Continue taking the order as usual. Once the call ends, Caller ID will stop showing the customer’s info, but the order will stay active. If additional calls come in while you’re still on the phone, they’ll appear in a queue on the customer screen, listed in the order the calls came in.

All Slice Online customers are already saved, so their name and past orders will automatically appear.
