3 Instagram tips for pizza shops
I've been making content and building a community with Slice for a whole year now, and I’ve learned a thing or two about helping pizza shops shine online. To celebrate, I’m sharing three easy tips to level up your shop’s Instagram game and build a loyal community of customers.
1. Showcase what makes you unique
What sets your shop apart from the one down the block? Whether it’s a quirky pizza topping, unique wall art, or fun events like karaoke or trivia nights, show it off! Customers love to see the personality behind your pizza.
Got a cool backstory? Share it! For example, if your shop used to be a shoe factory in the 1930s, that’s the kind of history people eat up (pun intended). Before I visit a restaurant, I always check its Instagram to get a feel for the vibe — make sure yours tells your story.
2. Light up your photos and videos
Nobody wants to see a dark, blurry photo of your pizza. Good lighting is essential to make your food look mouthwatering. If your shop has tricky lighting, especially during winter when it gets dark early, take your shots outside. Natural light works wonders — it’ll make your pizza (and you!) look amazing.
3. Put the spotlight on your staff
Your staff is the heart of your shop — introduce them! Share photos and videos of the team to make your customers feel at home. When customers recognize friendly faces, it builds connection. There’s no better feeling than walking into a pizza shop where the staff knows your name and your go-to order.
Just have fun with it!
Your Instagram is a reflection of your shop’s vibe, so let loose and enjoy the process. Make it a place where people want to hang out, both online and IRL.
