From balcony to brick and mortar: The story of 4 Bros Pizza

Born in the heart of the pandemic, 4 Bros Pizza, located in New Rochelle, New York, has grown from humble beginnings to become a beloved local spot that prioritizes quality, affordability, and giving back. We had the chance to sit down and talk with Daniel and Mariella Terrones about their journey.

How It All Began

The story of 4 Bros Pizza started in early 2020, during the height of the pandemic. Daniel and his three brothers began their venture not in a commercial kitchen, but on his sister-in-law’s balcony with a one-pie oven. Balancing full-time jobs, the brothers dedicated their Sundays to crafting pizzas and building a following through Instagram.

“We worked strictly off of Instagram,” Daniel shared. “People would put in preorders throughout the week, and by Sunday, we were already halfway booked. The support we received was incredible. It showed how much the community wanted to come together, even during such a challenging time.”

Though it started as a labor of love, their venture quickly grew into something more. “We weren’t doing it to get rich; we just loved making pizza and seeing people enjoy it,” he said.

Perfecting the Product: Neo-New York Style Pizza

4 Bros Pizza specializes in what they call Neo-New York style pizza. This unique blend combines the ingredients and craftsmanship of Neapolitan pizza with the thin, crispy crust that defines New York pizza. Their slogan, “the perfect crunch,” reflects their dedication to delivering a consistent, satisfying bite every time.

Mariella added that their dough is crafted to be easier on digestion, making it accessible for people with dietary sensitivities.

Building a Community Through Pizza

For the team at 4 Bros Pizza, giving back is as essential as their pizza dough. Having grown up in financially challenging circumstances, the brothers wanted to ensure their pizza shop would be a place where families could gather without breaking the bank.

“We wanted to create a safe, affordable space where families could enjoy a meal together,” Mariella explained. “Pizza is universal — it connects people from all walks of life. During the pandemic and even now, we’ve made it a priority to keep our prices accessible while still delivering quality.”

Advice for New Shop Owners

When asked about their advice for aspiring pizza shop owners, Daniel and Mariella emphasized resilience, community, and teamwork.

“There will be good days and bad days,” Mariella said. “But if your passion shines through, you’ll push through. The pizza industry is full of incredible people who are always willing to share their knowledge and support you.”

Daniel echoed the sentiment, adding: “Stay humble, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to teach others what you know. The pizza world thrives on collaboration, not competition. And most importantly, build a strong, loyal team — they’re the foundation of your success.”

The story of 4 Bros Pizza is more than just a tale of entrepreneurial success — it’s a celebration of family, community, and a shared love for pizza. Daniel, Mariella, and their team continue to inspire others by staying true to their roots while constantly evolving their craft.
