How experimenting with pizza toppings can give your pizza shop an edge

Danny’s Pizzeria in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is using unique toppings to make itself a neighborhood gem. It’s been around since the 1980s, and for a good reason!

You’ve heard of pineapple on pizza, but have you ever tried apple on a pizza? Danny’s apple and gorgonzola pie is unlike anything else. It’s got that perfect blend of sweet and sharp, a flavor combo you didn’t know you needed.

Part of what makes Danny’s Pizzeria so special is its history. I met the owner, Danny, himself, and you can feel the family pride in every corner of the shop. From the retro aesthetic to the warm smiles, it’s like stepping back in time. Locals love it, and for good reason — it’s not just pizza; it’s tradition.

Even if the apple and Gorgonzola combination isn’t on your pallatte, there’s plenty to love. My friend Sabriya swears by their buffalo chicken pizza — according to her, it’s got the perfect amount of bleu cheese on it, an ingredient that can sometimes be too overpowering.

Want your shop to stand out from the crowd? I’d suggest getting creative with your pizza toppings!
